On the minute to win it bonus, does the captain have to call subsisto at the beginning of the match? Does Subsisto end in the first minute of the match...?

Task 4.3.7 - "Minute to Win It" - provides you the opportunity to score some extra points if your robot can complete its scoring drive within the first 60 seconds. When used, the phrase "SUBSISTO" immediately stops all action and scoring potential for the team; ss soon as it is uttered, the referee will disallow any scoring or robot-incurred penalties after that point. If used within the first 60 seconds of the match, you will be awarded with some bonus points. For example, if SUBSISTO is uttered by the team captain 15 seconds into the match, the robot must be immediately stopped and the state of the field will be assessed, and the bonus points will be added to your final score.

It's important to note that the accuracy of the referees will vary. If you call SUBSISTO 59 seconds into the match the referee may not react for up to 5 seconds, at which point when the referee checks to see how much time has elapsed the clock may have gone past 60 seconds - at this point, your robot will still be required to be shut down immediately since you called SUBSISTO, but you will not receive the points for task 4.3.7. A methodology for helping to increase the referee's response time will be to kindly notify the referee that you will be using SUBSISTO prior to the start of the match; this gives the referee a heads-up that you may use it, so the referee can keep a closer eye on the clock. The more reliable method would be to leave yourself a nice buffer between when you call SUBSISTO and the actual end of the first 60 seconds of the match.

If your team never utters SUBSISTO, it will never be assessed, even if you told the referee you may use it prior to the start of the match (that was just a "heads up", not a commitment). The option to use SUBSISTO always resides with the team, no matter what.
