Is there a specific type of BOM that the judges require? Last year we created our own and one judge said, it wasn't the right one.

Thank,
g

per the final rules on page 13

3.1.6 Teams are allowed to incorporate non-electrical non-LEGO parts on their robots to enhance functionality or as decorations, but there is no requirement to do so; ALL TEAMS are REQUIRED to have a Bill Of Materials (BOM) whether or not they are using non-LEGO parts on their robots. The total retail value of all non-LEGO parts may not exceed $5, and all teams that incorporate non-LEGO parts must specify the quantity and cost of each of the items in use – scrap or surplus items with less than one cent per square foot retail value may be specified as having zero cost. The BOM must be in the following format:
REQUIRED
Description
Cost
Quantity
Total
LEGO Plastic & Electronic Parts
--
Unlimited
--

put in table form with columns running across top...hope this helps!

Thanks for posting that, Anthony. I definitely recommend that teams bring a BOM that you can hand-modify for last-minute additions. For example, if you find a last-minute need for adding ZIP ties to the robot to bundle wires but you don't have it on the BOM, if your BOM has empty space you can easily add that item onto the BOM.

The BOM does NOT have to be printed, but it MUST be NEAT and in the correct format (Anthony's sheet has the Cost/Quantity columns swapped). If you come to State with Anthony's BOM, will I accept it? Yes, I will - because it contains the information I specifically asked for.
